BEAUMONT PARISH COUNCIL
Once again the Village Fete proved to be an enormous success thanks to the support of so many people in the Parish who have taken this event to their hearts. The weather threatened to spoil proceedings but Divine Intervention produced a fine afternoon just in time to save us. The appearance of so many Gazebos transformed the Fisher’s garden and provided the degree of protection from the elements which was required.
Our thanks go out to everyone who helped on the day and to all who supported the event. Our deepest gratitude, though, goes to Bridget and Ben Fisher for allowing us to once again to use their house and gardens to provide the setting for this Annual event.
The Village element of the proceeds of £1000 + will be used first of all to prepare and plant Wass’s Corner and to maintain the play park. If you have any other suggestions for Village improvements please contact any Parish Councillor.
Plans for the proposed extension and improvement to the Village Hall are well advanced. Planning Permission has been granted and we await the result of our application for a Lottery Grant .If the application is successful we will begin the project as soon as possible.
Don’t forget to visit the Parish Web Site at www.beaumontparish.co.uk to keep up with events. Items and photographs are needed to keep the site moving. Just log on and follow the directions.
We await movement from Highways so that we can begin work at Wass,s Corner. The Trees and Shrubs have been ordered by Trevor for delivery in mid November.
Advanced notice that the New Year’s Eve Social will take place once again in the Village Hall. Please come along and celebrate New Year with your friends. Jane Wright and Tracy Stevens will again be organising the event and tickets will be available nearer the time.
There is a possibility that Douglas Careswell will attend the December meeting of the Parish Council, in which case we will modify the format. More information will be posted on the Notice Board and in the next edition of the magazine.
