BEAUMONT PARISH COUNCIL     AUGUST  2007

1 Village Hall Extension

Phase 1 of the Village Hall improvements  is now complete thanks to the efforts of  Russell Peck and his sub contractors and Ross Stevens who installed new lights and curtain rails. The extension has made a substantial difference to the available space in the hall and kitchen and the new floor makes a real impact on the appearance. All in all this phase has been most successful and brings the hall up to date .New tables and chairs are on order and once they arrive the hall will be one of the best small venues in the area. We would like local residents to make full use of this excellent facility for their family events. I would like to publicly thank the Village Hall Committee for their cooperative efforts in producing this result
The next phase is due to start as soon as possible. The Community Initiatives Grant Committee is due to meet in July when we hope to receive a grant and we have some of our own funds available to undertake most of the planned work which includes replacing the windows and heaters and providing asphalt parking places for the disabled. The Parish Council will provide some funding from resources remaining from previous fete proceeds BUT  we will have to use funds from this year’s event as well so PLEASE support us on August Bank Holiday Monday. It is hoped to have the work completed by Christmas when we will hold a grand opening event, so watch this space.

  1. Beaumont Village Fete

Arrangements for the fete are well under way. There are some new sideshows this year as well as the “old faithfuls” and we thank Bridget and Ben Fisher for once again allowing us to use Beaumont House . The fete begins at 2-15 on Monday 27th August so come along and support the efforts of the Church and the Parish Council.
Your help is needed for the fete in the following ways:-

    1. We need a few helpers. If you would like to offer your services contact Ben Fisher, Tracy Stevens or myself on 01255860065.
    2. We need donations of Cakes, Prizes for the Raffle and Tombola, Bric a Brac and saleable items and Books. There will be an auction of the more expensive donations. The loan of Gazebos on the day would also be helpful in this unpredictable climate.

There will be a meeting for all helpers on Monday 20th August at 7pm ain the garden of Beaumont House to plan arrangements for the day

  1.  Play Park

The slide in the Play park is due to be refurbished. The required materials have been obtained and work will begin soon.
As you can see, the Parish Council and Village Hall Committee are working very hard in cooperation with everyone in the Village to provide good quality facilities. Please support them with your presence at the fete and please make use of the resources which are there to be used.
